Fine and Demi-Fine Jewelry Care:

*Due to the nature of the artistry in our jewelry, slight variations may occur.

*Due to natural variation, no two stones or pieces of jewelry will look exactly alike

Caring for your Britt Moore Jewelry pieces can be simple and easy when remembering a few things:

Remove your jewelry during certain activities such as cleaning, swimming, and exercising. Avoid letting your jewelry come into contact with harsh household chemicals like hairspray and chlorine, and store your jewelry in a safe, dry place. Keeping your pieces individually in soft pouches can help to avoid scuffs and scratches as well.

If your Britt Moore Fine Jewelry needs to be cleaned, use a mild soap and warm water with a soft toothbrush.

Please note that specific stones are more delicate than others. Pearls and Lapis need extra attention to keep them in their best condition. Turquoise, for example, should not be cleaned with a brush but a soft cloth or even your finger. Opals can easily crack or damage from extreme temperature changes, and pearls should be stored flat and separate from other objects that may scratch their surface. A good wipe down of your stones after wear can also help to avoid any buildup of oils or other substances. Do not expose your Pearls, Lapis, and similar stones to alcohol and chemical-based substances such as hand sanitizer and perfume. As with perfumes and hairspray, the alcohol in hand sanitizer can change the surface of your delicate stones. With exposure to these chemicals, the two noticeable differences are a loss of luster and a color change.

Lastly, don’t forget to insure your Britt Moore Fine Jewelry pieces!

Gold Vermeil and Silver Jewelry:

To get the most wear of your jewelry, you can treat and care for your jewelry just as we recommend for Britt Moore Fine Jewelry.

Silver jewelry can scratch and lose its shine over time with wear and can be polished with a jewelry cloth. Please do not try to polish gold vermeil jewelry, as it will remove the plating.

* Please note that some people’s skin can tarnish or polish jewelry more easily than others.

To Store All Your Jewelry:

Store them in a dry area to care for the jewelry and refrain from tarnishing. The smallest amount of moisture in the air can lead to tarnishing, so store the jewelry in a jewelry box or pouch. You can also place an anti-tarnish strip in the jewelry box or pouch for further protection. If the jewelry comes in contact with water, perfume, sweat, or any other form of moisture, be sure to wipe and dry the piece. Another great tip is using a protection spray to preserve the jewelry. The piece will not tarnish and look forever new by following these steps.
